Redback Boots are 100% Australian made and owned. The Cloros family who operate the business are 4th Generation boot makers. Family members work hands on in the factory every day, to ensure the highest standard of production quality. Redback means vision . In the early 1990s the Australian Government accelerated the removal of Tariff barriers protecting Australian Boot makers. Many footwear manufacturers decided to use this opportunity to source cheap semi finished products from third World Countries where costs are low. Redback decided to go the opposite way. The Cloros family decided there was a market for hand made, high quality specialist boots for specific industry and general purpose. Because Redback Boots are tougher, lighter and more comfortable than ordinary footwear Redback has achieved enormous growth. Starting with just 5 employees in 1989 there are now over 100 people involved in boot production and distribution from their Sydney factory for Australian and Export Markets.

What sizes and the fitting do Redback boots come in?
Redbacks come in UK sizes (roughly 2 sizes larger than US) eg. US 9.5 equates to Redback size 8.

Redback boots show no stitching to the sole. How is the sole attached?
Redback boots use no stitching, screws or glue as these breakdown over time. Redbacks use the premier method for work or hiking boot soles - a moulten or liquid sole material that is formed directly onto the leather fibres under pressure. So the sole actually then becomes part of the upper.

How abrasion, oil, acid and heat resistant is the sole?
The TPU sole has excellent oil and acid resistance to almost all thise encountered in normal working environments. It has 2 times the abrasion resistance of many soles. The soles are heat resistant to 200C.

How should I look after the leather?
The hide has oils that need to be replenished during the life of the boot. We recommend the use of premium silicon waxes.

Where are Redbacks made?
Redbacks are 100% Ausrtalian made. We handle the boots from the hide to the box!

Are there any synthetic materials in the upper?
Redback believes that boots must be breathable. Synthetic linings and leather liings, which are glued to the upper, stop the leather breathing. The extra thick and mellow single layer of the leather keeps your feet at the most comfortable climate.
